Snap-in or fixed: the difference
| Snap-in denture | Fixed implant denture | |
|---|---|---|
| Comes out? | Yes, you remove it to clean it | No, only a dentist removes it |
| Feel | Much steadier than a regular denture | Closest to natural teeth |
| Cleaning | Take it out, brush it and the implants | Brush in place, clean under it |
| Cost | Usually lower | Usually higher |
A fixed implant denture works much like All-on-X: a full arch of teeth fixed to implants.
Who implant dentures are for
Implant dentures can be a good fit if you:
- wear a full denture that slips, clicks or rubs sore spots
- avoid foods you like because of your denture
- are tired of adhesive
- are about to lose your remaining teeth and want to plan what comes next
Some people need a bone graft first. The consultation is where you find out.
How it works
- Free consultation. You meet Dr. Bazzi, review your scan, and talk through what is realistic for your mouth and your budget.
- A plan in writing. You leave knowing the treatment sequence, the timeline and the cost up front.
- Placement. The implants are placed in our office, with sedation available if you feel nervous.
- Healing. The implants bond with the jawbone over several months.
- Your new denture. Dr. Bazzi designs and fits the denture to the implants and checks your bite.
What implant dentures cost
The cost depends on the number of implants, snap-in or fixed, one jaw or both, and whether a graft is needed. Your written plan lists the cost before anything starts, and our front desk can review your insurance benefits with you.

Questions patients ask
Is a snap-in denture as stable as fixed teeth? It is much steadier than a regular denture, but it can move slightly because it is removable. Fixed teeth don't move at all.
Do the parts wear out? The small attachments that hold a snap-in denture wear with use and need replacing from time to time.
I already have some teeth. Is this still for me? It depends on the health of those teeth. Your plan may keep them, or replace them if they can't be saved.
