Who dentures are for
Dentures can be a good fit if you:
- are missing all or most of your teeth in one or both jaws
- have teeth that can't be saved and need to come out
- want a removable option that usually costs less than implants
- have an old denture that no longer fits
If you already wear a denture and it slips when you eat or talk, ask about implant dentures. Implants can hold a denture firmly in place.

How it works
- Exam and options. We review your dental history and check your mouth, with X-rays if needed. We walk through your options and check your benefits, so you know what is covered before you decide.
- Making your denture. The shape of your gums and the way your jaws meet are recorded, so the denture can be made to fit.
- Fitting. You learn how to put the denture in, take it out and clean it.
- Adjustments. Sore spots are common in the first weeks. They can be adjusted, so tell us about them.
What dentures cost
The cost depends on full or partial, the materials, and whether teeth need to come out first. You know the cost before you decide, and our front desk can review your insurance benefits with you.

Questions patients ask
How long does it take to get used to dentures? Most people need a few weeks to get used to eating and speaking with them. Starting with soft foods cut into small pieces helps.
How long do dentures last? Your gums and jawbone change shape over time, so a denture needs relining now and then, and eventually replacing.
My denture keeps slipping. What can I do? A reline may help. If it still moves, implants can hold it in place. See our implant dentures page.
